Rule #4: It’s all the Project.

I’m having trouble explaining this one and I want to get this iteration shipped. In short: instead of trying to treat all of my interests as separate silos, recognize that they are all part of one, larger thing. The website exists for the projects, the projects provide context for the website.

In my head, it all feels like a mixed media exhibit or a performance art piece where, rather than any one project being the focus, they all get smooshed together.

This is something that has held me up in the past, as I’ve felt my enjoyments of programming/writing/music and just life in general all had to exist in a state of zero sum competition, where spending time on any one domain came at the detriment of all the others. This time I’m expanding my definition of the project to include all of it, and it feels very much better.

This may be easier to demonstrate to explain.
