Setting your keyboard shortcuts is key (no pun intended) to getting the most out of Musicality, allowing you to play, pause, skip, and rate your music without ever having to stop what you're doing.
To assign your shortcuts, open the Musicality preferences (Musicality > Preferences... from the menu, or ⌘+, from the keyboard) and select the Keyboard pane.

If you have a newer Mac, you've already got media functions assigned to the F7, F8, and F9 keys on your keyboard (skip backwards, play/pause, and skip forward respectively). These will work with Musicality; you don't need to assign new keys for these functions.

The dedicated media keys, available on all recent Macs.
Musicality's keyboard shortcuts are global, which means that you can use them in any application. Musicality has to be running, but it doesn't have to be the active window, or even visible. Because these shortcuts work everywhere, you need to take a bit of care to make sure you assign combinations that aren't used by any of your other applications. Adding one or more of the special keys (Control, Option, Command) can help make sure you've got a unique combination.
To assign a new combination, click on the control to the right of the action you wish to change (where it says "Click here to record shortcut" in the screenshot above). Then press the key combination you wish to use. If you wish to change or remove a combination, click the
button.
